I used MAD refs on this drawing. I need to do that kind of stuff ALL the time. Oh, also, this is me. :D

It also could have been a lot bigger, but i was getting rather frustrated near the end. which is why the coloring isn’t as detailed as I could have made it. That’s oka, though, because i really like the finished product!

How I feel right now. I don’t feel single. I don’t feel taken. I just feel unhappy. Drawn while watching King of the Hill (as usual) on Sketchbook Pro on my Galaxy Note.

Star Clipper’s first Annual Ladies’ Night was a huge success!

It was a lot of work, and I had help from a lot of people, but it was totally worth it and I know everyone had a lot of fun. We had a TON of people work with the Make Your Own Comic Book Shoe table as well as the Make Your Own Mini Comic.

People were really excited about having 20% of their purchase donated to Gateway 180 : Homelessness reversed, and I was happy to hear that some people even just handed the representative money for the cause!

The raffles went over very well. People were eager to win the prizes. The prints and books and gift cards definitely were a hit and I’m glad we got to have so many donations from Liz Prince, Emily Carroll, and Raina Telgemeier. I’ll have to send them some thank you notes.

The local creators got to sell a decent amount of their work and it made me really happy that they could meet some of the local talent. I even got to meet more local artists and writers that were interested in being showcased in future Ladies’ Nights! Tabby Freeman, Rori!, Shannon Dybvig, Jeanie Meyer Bryan, and M. Enger really did a great job and without their help, this event would not have been as awesome as it was.

I can’t wait for next year. I have some pretty cool ideas I want to try out. It was really great to hear from people that this is something they’ve wanted for a really long time. And it makes me happy that I could have been a part of providing a place for Ladies to be comfortable reading and buying comics. It’s not just a man’s world!

Cheers, everyone! Here’s to the future!
